The Stay Club has opened its doors in Kentish Town not long ago, and so we’ve had some time to explore the neighbourhood. A ten minutes’ walk at the most from Camden, this area combines the ease of Central London with peaceful surroundings, and it doesn’t take long to fall in love with its abundance of things to do, see and taste! Loose yourself in the neighbourhood’s streets and peruse the beautiful houses or stroll up and down the high street that plays host to both well-known chains and local businesses of all sorts. Whatever you choose, you’re bound to fall in love with the area. So, what’s there to do in Kentish Town?
1. The O2 Forum
The O2 Forum has been treating us to entertainment since 1934, at which point it was an art deco cinema. It has come a long way since then, re-inventing itself as an Irish Dance Hall, a bingo hall, and finally a music venue in its own right. Functioning now as the little sibling to the O2 Academy, this venue has welcomed the likes of Nina Simone, Prince, The Who, Lenny Kravitz and more. Curious what they have on their ever-evolving programme for you? Have a browse through here.

2. Anima e Cuore
Ever since the Time Out Eating and Drinking Editors put this tiny restaurant (and by tiny, we truly do mean tiny) on the map, it’s booked out weeks in advance! Reminiscent of a gelateria and café hybrid, the quality of its Italian serving makes a stark contrast with the minimalistic surroundings of the restaurant. The fact that it has a mere 22 seats takes absolutely nothing away from its quality serving, and we’re definitely proud to have it in our neighbourhood.

3. Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream
Europe’s first Filipino Ice Cream chose the vibrant Kentish Town area to call home a few years back, and we are very glad they did! The name “dirty ice cream” is quite puzzling, until you find out it’s the nickname given to the kind of ice cream found in the streets of Manila. Mamasons believe that their uncompromising taste derives from the simplicity of the recipe, seeking to convey a cultural experience more than your average sweet goodness. Their menu is mouth-watering to say the least, and we can’t wait for those warm days to hit London so we can go through the entire thing!

4. Kelly Street
Whoever told you that you need to commute all the way to Notting Hill for those colourful street shots, probably hadn’t come across Kelly Street. Tucked away on the right side as you walk down Kentish Town High Street is the prettiest combination of house facades you’ve seen! Their lively colours are sure to put you in a good mood instantly, and we are just so very glad it’s a short walk from our residence!

5. Camden Town Brewery
Its reputation proceeds it by now, as Camden Town Brewery is stocked up pretty much every pub you walk into. Its unique branding, bright red logo and phenomenally smooth taste have made it a household name by now, and we’re lucky to have its original brewery tucked away in the cobblestone alley next to Kentish Town West overground station. Check out the Brewery Bar’s list of events or just book a tour and find out more about their loving brewing process that has taken them far and wide!
