June was not as gracefully warm as we’d hoped, but we’re pretty sure that the winter feels are officially behind us… Even if they aren’t though, this list of events aims to spruce up our plans for July. From exciting partying opportunities to music events in botanical gardens, London never disappoints (except for when it comes to the sun; or the lack thereof…). So, make sure you scroll through the list below and jot down our recommendations in your diaries!
1. Solomons’ Yard
In celebration of Camden Market’s 45th birthday (consider us impressed), Camden Market’s cobbled streets are coming to life after the sun has set. Solomon’s Yard draws inspiration straight from Peaky Blinders’ Alfie Solomon, and his illicit activities right in the heart of Camden Town, to spruce up the market at night. A series of line ups, accompanied by excellent street food options (well, it is Camden Market we are talking about!) and, of course, plenty of beer! Fridays and Saturdays all throughout July are pretty much sorted!
2. Pride in London Parade
July 6th is undoubtedly reserved for the most spectacular celebration of love! As LGBT+ communities take over London’s streets, the landscape transforms in its entirety to create a unique and memorable experience. In celebrating and continuing the battle for equal rights, the parade will start at 12 pm and make its way to Trafalgar Square, where surprises of all sorts will be expecting the crowds. Pop sounds, a bustling LGBT+ community and the wider London crowd that aims to celebrate love in all of its forms.
3. World Illustration Awards
In a city where creative minds are sought after, and ideas circulated constantly, it’s easy to find places that will give you new ideas. The World Illustration Awards 2019 are definitely one of those places, showcasing the full shortlist of 200 entries. The exhibition will take place at Somerset House, and will run through the 11th to the 28th of July, so be sure to save the date!
4. Summer Streets
Enjoy a Regent Street unlike anything you’ve seen before! Four Sundays between July and September, Regent Street will be free of traffic, making for an exquisite summer experience in the heart of London! But it gets even better: live entertainment and food-drinks stalls aplenty, will help raise your spirits and get you in the mood for a shopping spree. The first Summer Streets experience is scheduled for the 14th and 15th of July.
5. Kew the Music
Kew Gardens has decided that offering a unique flower display wasn’t enough, and it wanted a summer nights experience to be added to its roster… Starting on the 9th of July, some pretty cool line ups will head to Kew’s picnic settings, including Jess Glyne (10/07).
